Absentee voting for Spring Election
Absentee ballots for the April Spring Election will be sent to all electors with valid requests on file in the Clerk’s office on March 14, 2017. In-person absentee voting at the town hall will begin March 20: hours will be 8 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday for the weeks of March 20-25 and March 27-April 1. Please contact the clerk for an appointment to vote.
Town Board Meeting 3-21-2017
The regular Town Board Meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 6:30 pm at the Town Hall.

Town of Flambeau

Dump regulations:
- Recycling available for use by any Rusk County residents
- Garbage dumpsters available for Town of Flambeau Resident’s use only: only garbage made in the town of Flambeau is acceptable. Don’t bring in garbage from city or other townships.
- Not for commercial use
- Starting May 3, 2017 the dump will be open Wednesdays 10-3 and Saturdays 9-4. There will also be an oversize dumpster available for larger items for a fee. The Wednesdays and oversize dumpster will end on November 4, 2017 when the winter hours will start.
Snow plowing
Beginning March 1, 2017, anyone who plows snow from their driveway out into the town road right of way will receive a warning from the town to remove the snow from the road. If the snow is not removed the property owner will be referred to the Sheriff’s department for violation of the state law: Wisconsin state statute 346.94(5) “No person may place or cause to be placed upon any highway any substance that is or may be injurious to any vehicle. “ And 346.95(3) “Any person violating 346.94(5) shall be required to forfeit $50 for each offense.”
Also, Wisconsin state statute 86.022 makes it a misdemeanor punishable by fine to place any obstruction in a road ditch. Compacted snow that will not allow drainage is considered an obstruction.
Town of Flambeau Website
The township now has a website. Please check it out: https://www.townofflambeau.com. There is a lot of information on the site: dump regulations, meeting notices, agendas, building permits, board members, etc. Pass the word to anyone interested in finding information about our township. The Website is still being put together but we hope to have everything up and running by March 1.
